Direct Action in many German towns

There are independent action groups in cities like Dresden, Leipzig, Halle, Jena, Stuttgart, Munich, Gießen, Nuremberg, Potsdam, Cologne, Bonn, Mönchengladbach and other. Some of them have founded alliances for car free zones, more bikes, free busses and trams, map out plans for example in Gießen (see www.giessen-autofrei.tk), but the most important thing is direct action: Blocking streets and bridges, designing bike lanes as a demonstration, distributing “fake” tickets for public transport, using busses and trains without ticket in a demonstrable way and so on. There is no hierarchy between the groups. They all have their own names and make their own actions. Sometimes they cooperate for bigger actions. You will find reports, movies and descriptions of action ideas on www.schwarzstrafen.tk and www.verkehrswende.tk.
